What does this Tuning Kit do?

Tuning module for the Bosch Smart System. Compatible with all Bosch drive systems that are equipped with the Smart System and whose motor support ends at 25km/h (15.5mph) from the factory. Note: Bikes with rim magnet and ABS systems are not supported

How does Speedfun work?

The tuning kit manipulates the speed signal without altering the motor's power relative to pedaling speed. This guarantees a smooth motor control without speed limit interruptions. Depending on a tuning kit, some determine when assistance stops, while others remove the restriction entirely for continuous support. However, the achievable speed mostly depends on the eBike model. Achievable speed can be calculated using a simple formula:

Speed = Cadence [rpm] * Wheel circumference [mm] * Front Chainring Teeth / Rear Chainring Teeth * 60 [min/h] / 1.000.000 [mm/km]

Note:
- It is supplied ready to use in "ALWAYS ON" mode and cannot be deactivated.
- If you want to be able to activate and deactivate the speed release function, you need to cut/interrupt the jumper at the point indicated by the arrow (insulate both ends!). There is no way back after this. Read the activation and deactivation methods on the instructions.

Activation:
- Turn Off the ebike.
- Place the chain on the longest gear (the smallest rear sprocket).
- Position the left pedal at 11:00. From now on, do not turn the rear wheel.
- Turn On the ebike and wait for the complete check. Don't spin the rear wheel (not yet ..).
- Raise the rear wheel, give a strong pedal. Let the wheel spin over 30 km/h for a few seconds.
The system recognizes the acceleration and considers it as a command to activate or deactivate (cyclically) the speed release. Upon activation, the display (if present) shows the speed that passes from real to manipulated in the manner described above. When deactivated, the display shows the speed change from manipulated to real and the bike returns to its original condition.

Please disable automatic updates in the eBike Flow App. And do not us flow app together with tuning kit.

Is this the tuning kit that I need?

This tuning kit is compatible with Bosch Smart System. Bikes equipped with a rim magnet are not supported by the tuning. Not compatible with with e-bikes with Bosch ABS system as well. This device is not compatible with ebikes equipped with a GPS system (Bosch ConnectModule). The Smart System is most easily identified by the Intuvia 100 or Kiox 300 display type or the LED Remote control unit or the system controller.

How to install this Tuning kit?

When connecting Tuning Kit to an e-bike you will find connectors colored to make installation very simple. We have prepared detailed instructions to make installation easy for you. Disassembly of our tuning kit is just as easy. If you have any troubles with installation or disassembly, do not hesitate to contact us. If you are planning to install Speedfun on a brand-new bike, make sure you ride it for at least 0.6 miles (1 km) before the tuning kit is activated.
